Holy Wasnon

Holy Wasnon is usually invoked for the healing of the sick of the spleen.
Holy Wasnon, was monk in the 7 th century of origin Irish or Scottish. It was time evangelizing the north of Gaul, in particular the Hainaut, whose population was more or less returned to paganism, which is a consequence of the disruption of the Church following the barbarian invasions, including Frankish.
The life of Saint Wasnon is surrounded by mysteries and little is known about her. Holy Wasnon reportedly fled his homeland because of persecution, in the company of his brothers: Gobain (become Saint Gobain), Algis Pacevicius (become saint Algis Pacevicius), Éloque, Boelian and Momble.
He arrives to Condatum (or  Condate) toward the year 633. At the time, the territory of the city is an uninhabited place in the woods. Saint Wasnon built there at the top of a wooded hill a small oratory under which he is buried at his death, which occurred in the year 677. On this location, later, he high Notre-Dame of Conde the parish church placed under his invocation.
