One calls upon the happy Holy Valery to be preserved of any shipwreck, and for people in danger of the sea.
Holy Valery was born in a very poor family and spent his youths to keep herds. He learned how to read all alone in the Bible. Pushed by the saint desire to be the servant of God, he sought asylum in a convent and neither the threats nor the prayers of his parents could decide him to leave there.
He resurrected of died and delivered had.
He’s particularly honoured in Saint-Valéry-on-Somme which has a bone of this saint.
Exude, Seigneur, prayers that we offer to you via Holy Valery; deliver us, by his merits, of the dangers which we run, us and all those which are exposed to the dangers of the shipwrecks. Deliver to us also all our sins which deserve to attract on us the punishments of your justice. We request some from you by NR. – S. J. – C. Amen.
Holy Valery, guard of those which are on sea, request for us.
Ô Jésus Innocent Lamb of God, scorned, turned in derision by all the men, and not finding anybody to comfort you and relieve you: I deplore you so painful abandonment bitterly; I would like to have been close to your cross to offer my services to you. I return graces for all to you that you suffered for my safety, and I offer my heart to you, so that it can share the bitterness with which yours is full; I want, until my last sigh, to suffer by love for you all that you suffered yourself, in order to be always a victim which is pleasant for you. Amen.
