Holy Gerebaud

Holy Gerebaud

Holy Gerebaud was bishop of Bayeux. In spite of his virtues, his charities and his miracles, or perhaps even because of those which started jealousies, he was victim of calumnies and was thrown to the sea, a stone with the neck. But God, who never gives up his servants, saved him miraculously.
Holy Gerebaud cured all those which came to him and he was acquired a great fame during an epidemic of dysentery which threatened his good town of Bayeux; not only the epidemic ceased as soon as the Saint put himself in prayers, but all the patients were cured. It’s in remembering this miracle, which one calls upon Holy Gerebaud to be cured of the dysentery and mainly of the epidemic dysentery.

INVOCATION
Yes, Lord, I must confess to the glory of your name which your paternal kindness never gives up his trusty servants, and which your mercy extends until on the sinners, in consideration of the merits of the Saints; thus condescend, Ô my God, to grant to me, by the merits of Holy Gerebaud, a perfect cure, so that I can bless your name here below and during all eternity. Amen.
Holy Gerebaud, be favourable and save to us us of any dysentery mortal or epidemic.

SPEECH
You granted it to me, this more beautiful part of my life, Seigneur, so that I prepare happy days at the end of my career; I will employ them to this end. While my bad inclinations are weak still, and that I then to rectify them easily, I want to repress them, helped of your grace, and to subject them to your holy law; I will not let them become furious passions which would tear my heart. I don’t know what is reserved to me, Seigneur; I am unaware of which tests await me, which dangers threaten me, which tribulations are prepared to me: I will be exerted in vigilance, wisdom, patience, the force, courage, in practice of all the Christian virtues, so that per hour of temptation, I would be ready to fight. Grant to me this grace, Ô my God! Made that I sow in my first years, so that I can in my last days collect an abundant harvest. Amen.
