Holy Apolline was born to the 3 » century in Alexandria. During the bloody persecution of 248, holy Apolline, instead of fleeing, remained courageously in the city not fearing neither for her life, nor for her goods. When she was stopped, her torturers threw to her with brutality of the stones to the face; her jaw was broken and all her broken teeth.
They lit then one to rough-hew and transfer her, with surprise, to escape with their hands and to precipitate in fire, all with her joy of joining her Lord Jesus-Christ so quickly.
Since, the popular devotion is addressed to her for all the pains which arrive at the head or the face, and especially against the tooth aches.
God the Almighty and eternal, who inspired with this famous virgin and martyrdom a so burning love for your majesty that she liked better to let tear off all the teeth and lose the life to give up her safety and your divine love; preserve us, please, by his intercession, of the tooth ache, and never suffer that neither us, nor our goods and possessions are devoured by disastrous flames; but made, Father of the mercies, that our hearts are always, like that of holy Apolline, set ablaze love for you.
We request some from you by NR. – S.J. – C. Amen.
Holy Apolline, you who are an effective owner against the tooth aches, preserve us by your prayers of all the excessive evils.
Crucified me with you, holy Ô husband of my heart! So that, by love for you, I would have died in the world and myself; make feel the pains to me that the nails produced in your hands and your feet; that your heart, transpierced by the lance, spreads on me, with the blood and the water which left there on the cross, blessings of your grace; so that, the eyes always fixed on your nails, the lance and your wounds, I can achieve the work of my safety, and keep my heart in your love. Amen.
